Just living

The three of us have been not doing too much due to the thousands of holidays and public holidays (for royal wedding etc) and therefore not much work...devastate ;) I did start at a school as a trial for a contract there until end of July. After the first day I knew I wasn't going to take the contract, maybe just do a few weeks, but then after the second day I was not even thinking of going for a third. A very "interesting" school thats for sure. One of those school days where you wish tasers were legal haha. The kids were from unsupportive backgrounds and it definately showed in the classroom. Teachers are normally paired for support in each class. One teacher's advice to me.....Shout! Not something I have ever been a fan of and after one day of it I was exhausted. A student from another room ran past one of the classrooms and decided to kick down the door off its hinge...as you do. One midget kid told a 6ft South African Teacher that could have squashed him with one toe...that he was a fn d***head and should rot. At one point during my lesson (which apparently they were actually being good for once during) not one out of th 30 of them was listening and I found myself laughing infront of the class just because how unsuccessful my lesson was going...if you don't laugh you would cry. Lesson objectives? Course content? Please this was a job just trying to get kids stay in a classroom. And when you're walking down the street and watch as a mother leans down to her 10 year old and looks him in the eye to tell him to 'Shut his annoying fn mouth' you realise why these kids are the way they are, and how lucky some kids are to have parents that give a s###.  Makes me feel sick to my stomach. Anyway after day two I boarded the bus home and watched a kid from the school spit at the bus driver. I picked up my phone and rang my agent to tell him that I had enough, I felt bad but that job would suck the life out of me and my love of teaching. No thanks.

In other news many streets were closed off for Royal wedding street parties! Was awesome to see the buzz in the city, so many people pumped to be involved in some wicked history. Sure there were some anarchists having parties of their own opposing the wedding (yet still they watched it to say how lame it was???), but majority including me were loving life and keen to see her dress. What an amazing day for them and for the country!

Apart from that we get up early on school mornings and get dressed waiting for our call whether it comes or not. Its hectic though because they call fairly late and sometimes give a 30min window for you to get to the school! Lunch is always packed ready to go regardless. I have a girls school lined up tomorrow and since my last experience I am crossing my fingers for girls that are capable of bringing a pen and paper into class...sound like a minimal expectation? You would think so, however I have found that some schools simply provide this for the students....obviously it's too big of an ask! Absolute Bull@#%*

Sorry for the swearing parents.
