A wee Road trip

Our road trip was off to a great start!! Hopped into our little car ready to go...no gps of course we didn't need one of those plus it was an extra 20 pounds a day. First stop was meant to be south of london to Brighton however we were going the opposite direction on the highway and the exits aren't like the m1 at home where every k or so you can cross over and redirect, so Scotland bound we went!! First stop Warwick castle to have a geez. Was pretty cool to see the castle, got some photos and did a type of ghost trip that wasn't super scary but enough that I decided I didn't want to do a real ghost tour. With Lehan and I happily ticking castle of the list we continued on holding our breath that Jared didnt see when we passed another castle sign. First night we stayed in Manchester. We were all fairly tired so after dinner just hit the hay. NB dont order a chicken burger in Manchester, Jared did and we lost it when they laid out a white unbuttered bun with a chicken patty dumped in between, no sauce, nothing.

The next morning we continued up  through Leeds, York looking at the baby lambs and lucious grass until the land started to get more hilly the BOOM Scotland we crossed! Crazy that everywhere seems so close! Straight to Edinburgh where we checked into our hostel which was right on the Royal Mile down the road from Edinburgh castle. Ordered haggis for dinner that night (because thats what you have to do in Scotland) and was rather impressed with it!! Another fairly early night as Jareds bid for us to do a ghost tour failed...Lehan and I insisted he should do it by himself. Edinburgh hostel let us down  bit. My pillow case smelt of a boys room after a big night so sweaty alcohol nastiness...and a little bit of ass thrown in there (sorry mum) so I put my hood and imagined my sheets were clean and fresh. We shared with 5 others that trickled in during the night... in the style of baby elephanst, turning on lights, charging phones etc etc...no worries there guys cheers, and listening to the drunk dude outside trying to pull the fire extinguisher off the wall while getting warned he will be kicked out. Awesome. So when time came to get up, the three of us with suitcases under our eyes left the building...tired, cranky and a little short tempered ready for our next destination.

Hmmm back down we went destined for Lakes district.... amazing. Jared was caffeined up and drove all the way from edinburgh until we reached Bristol where finally we found a place with vacancy 1 hour and a half later. Bath was next on the cards and a nice little change in weather saw us in our togs chillin in the roof top mineral spa and in the sauna bays...very refreshing. I would have been happy to stay in Bath! After however it was time to spot Stonehenge!!! Too tight to pay for a viewing over the seethrough fence (7 pound cmon) we got some shots of us with Stonehenge in the background...first of Lehan on Jareds shoulders, then me, then Jared on mine....ohhhhh gracious. Lehan was copping abuse from Jared due to her poor camera angle, I was crumbing under the weight and was in hysterics from hearing their argument, a couple walking past laughed at us, and a dude on the 'rich' side of stonehenge fence had stopped to take photos of us claiming we were more entertaining!! haha too funny. Stonehenge, tick.

Beach towns now. Fanged down to Portsmouth and along that line. They definately don't know how to set up their beach towns!!! Buildings were well worn and rusted. No cute little cafes that outlooked onto the beach and no sand!!!! Too spoilt back home thats for sure.

Since we smashed through our roadtrip we thought to save cash money we would head back home so no more money for accomodation had to be paid. Our last night, Jared tucked Lehan and I into our bunk beds for a final nights rest. Was amazing to see the country side but nice to be back to our house. We walked into the house, straight to our rooms, and closed the doors. hahaha.

You Kay

Week one in London and the sun has been shining on us :) Lehan "can you get burnt in England?" Brodie: "No I dont think the sun is powerful enough"....WRONG! We are living in a sweet little place with a garden out the back with 3 other Italian girls who are all really nice. Have worked a few days in a couple of different schools but now its school holidays! So pretty much just set up bank accounts and organising our lives. Had one tourist day where we went to the Palace and saw Big Ben etc. Having a party at our house tomorrow night which should be fun and will get to meet more people. Then we are off on a road trip going South then looping up all the way to Scotland and back again which I cant wait to do!!! Hopefully have some sweet stories in a week or so!

In Transit in Iceland

New York by the end was way to much hustle and bustle for us. Lehan even misjudged the spinny door thing at our hotel and ran into the glass next to it cracking it all over...funniest thing I have ever seen in my life...lucky nobody from the hotel spotted her cos it woud have been a lot of money to replace.

We were happy to leave for Iceland for a change of scenery. A 5 hour flight landed us in yet another cold country. Straight away we jumped into a cab...without asking how far Rejkavik was away from the airport...$150 later or 16000 krona later we were dropped out our hotel with warm welcoming staff who must have seen our jetlagged faces and offered a free breaky (even though we weren't able to check in) which started our Iceland experience off nicely.

We hung in the lobby for an hour or so, trying to push through the fact we were running on 2 hours sleep max...eventually one of hotel employers once again must have felt sorry for us and found us a room to check into super early! So we slept for a while before venturing out into the capital which uses 99% renewable energy...unreal.

The streets all paved with beautiful stone, the place was tidy and laid back. The people were super friendly and looked like they had all walked out of a magazine....stunning. It was only one day we had there but a day well worth it. A very pretty place that I'm stoked we got to see. Now in London sorting out my life once again....house, phone, bike, job etc etc. Back to square one.
